This year marks a massive milestone for our local heroes: the 125th Anniversary of the Barry Dock Lifeboat Station. To celebrate over a century of saving lives at sea, we decided the best way to say “thank you” was to do what we do best.
We are incredibly proud to announce the launch of Doggie Paddle, a limited-edition hazy pale ale brewed in collaboration with Dog’s Window Brewery specifically to celebrate this historic anniversary and raise vital funds for the RNLI.
Meet the Beer: Doggie Paddle
When we set out to create Doggie Paddle, we wanted a beer that perfectly captured the spirit of the coast. Coming in at an easy-drinking 4.6% ABV, this hazy pale pours a gorgeous opaque golden colour with a thick, pillowy head thanks to a heavily wheated and oated malt bill designed for maximum softness.
But the hop profile is where this beer truly sings. The whirlpool hits you with Citra and Nectaron for a massive punch of peach and juicy pineapple, before being aggressively dry-hopped with an absolute powerhouse blend of Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, Harlequin, and Olicana.
On the nose, expect an aroma of crushed white wine, gooseberry, passionfruit, and bright citrus. On the palate, it delivers a beautifully soft, juicy mouthfeel bursting with complex tropical fruit flavours right through to a smooth finish.
Pouring Now at Craft Republic
To make this launch truly special, this is pouring at Craft Republic. It’s the perfect spot to gather the Barry community, raise a glass, and celebrate our local heroes.
Pints with a Purpose
The RNLI is a charity that relies almost entirely on donations to fund its lifesaving work. Every time their pagers go off, the Barry Dock volunteer crew drops everything to head out into the Bristol Channel, no matter the weather.
By grabbing a pint of Doggie Paddle, you aren’t just supporting local craft beer—you are directly supporting the RNLI. A portion of the proceeds from every pint sold goes straight to the Barry Lifeboat Station to help them continue their vital work for the next 125 years.
