It’s been an incredible week here at the brewery, and we’re absolutely buzzing to share some huge news with you all. We’ve just finished up an epic brew day, and this one’s a little bit special. We’ve teamed up with none other than Simon Martin from the “Real Ale Craft Beer” YouTube channel to create a brand new beer!
If you’re a fan of our brews, there’s a good chance you’ve stumbled across Simon’s channel. His passion for beer is infectious, and he’s been a massive supporter of the UK brewing scene for years. It was a no-brainer for us to get him in to brew something truly unique.
So, what did we make? We decided to go for a style that’s a bit of a throwback but with a Dogs Window twist. We’re calling it the “Fleshy Blood Orange West Coast IPA.” We wanted to capture that classic West Coast bitterness and piney aroma, but with a punch of juicy, fruity flavour. To achieve this, we loaded the brew with a generous amount of American hops. But we didn’t stop there. To really dial in that authentic West Coast bite, we added a heap of bitter orange peel directly into the boil. This will give the beer a dry, pithy bitterness that balances out the sweetness of the alcohol, just the way a proper West Coast IPA should.
Brewing alongside Simon was a blast. His knowledge of the industry and his palate are second to none, and it was a proper treat to swap stories and ideas. This is a beer we’ve been wanting to make for a while, and the stars aligned to make it happen with the perfect collaborator. We can’t wait for you to try it!
